NGIZ Noord | Refugees: what’s the problem?

NGIZ Noord will present its first lecture of the season on Monday 19th of October.

While millions of refugees are continually fleeing war and escaping poverty, all trying to reach Europe, an adequate response and solution in Europe has yet to take shape. The Netherlands and other European countries face numerous challenges as migration shifts of such size continue to occur.

Where do they come from? Why do they flee? What problems lie ahead of us? How do we solve these issues?

Barend ter Haar, senior visiting research fellow at the Clingendael Institute and former Dutch diplomat, i.e., at the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU, NATO and UNESCO will give a brief lecture titled ‘The challenges of migration’ together with Viola Bex-Reimert, professor migration law at the RuG.

During this lecture, you are cordially invited to participate and discuss with us the fundamental problems we are facing as society. We look forward to welcoming you on Monday 19th of October.
